Easter Traditions
I love Easter almost as much as I love Christmas! It truly is one of my absolute favorite holidays. We typically celebrate with a big Egg Hunt at our ranch outside of Dallas but after a few years of last minute cancellations due to weather, we have finally decided that we need to make a big shift in our Easter traditions! The stress of the extreme Texas weather shifts combined with our children growing up and aging out of this beloved tradition have led us to the conclusion that it is time to celebrate family style again.
There are parts of the tradition that we plan to keep up; My father sitting in one of our signature white rocking chairs reading the Biblical Easter story to everyone gathered on the steps before the hunt, the personalized porcelain eggs marked with a date that we all collect, and the tablescape laid in cheerful Easter colors can’t possibly be left behind! Hopefully we will add some new traditions in too!
I’d love to hear about your Easter traditions. Maybe we can incorporate one of yours into our new plans!
I’ve been reminiscing and thought I would share some of my favorite collectible Easter treats that I like to order every year. The orders I placed this year will certainly help keep the memories of the Egg Hunts alive!
We love to add to our Herend Figurine collections every year. I typically place them in silver baskets filled with moss or pastel Easter fillers but I also like to use them on a tray when serving treats or cocktails. Click here to see what I use to keep them safe!
We are totally obsessed with sugar diorama eggs and love to order them every year. They are always a delight! I try to order from different “makers” every year but these are always a favorite.
We have been buying these charming eggs every year since I was a child. We often use them as place cards on the table for our family dinner. These are from a variety of different artists but this one is our go-to!
A more recent find are these lovely smocked eggs, made entirely by hand. I love to give them as gifts around Easter. She can make anything! This year she made my daughter an egg with a cheerleader bear on it and added an M monogram to the bear’s sweater in honor of my daughter's cheer team.
